At Robins-DIY Store we stock popular and competitively priced sharp sand, building sand, kiln dried sand, ballast and play sand. It’s very important to choose the correct sand product for your end-use. For example, sharp sand is based used as part of a base under driveways, patios, artificial grass, or block paving, where a layer of hard or MOT is used, then topped with a layer of sand and compacted. Whereas building sand is a finer grade and is mixed with water and cement to make mortar. Finally, kiln dried sand is brushed into the joints of paving slabs to help repel water and preserve the position of the slabs.
